The Truth about Being Positive

If you have ever felt one of these questions pushing at your mind, good for you, I appreciate your honesty.  Look, it is completely human to question, and these questions are at the core of everything we talk about here.  I’ll tell you the truth; these are questions that I struggled with years ago.  Much of my struggle came because a whole lot of people were telling me to be positive, but no one was really showing me why.  When I finally discovered why and understood it in my whole being (as opposed to just rationally) that is when my true transformation began.

So, if you are questioning the same things I did, I am excited to be able to help give you the answer.  I am excited to help show you why all of this matters so much to your happiness, prosperity and fulfillment.  And I most excited to help you see and feel this so that you get it – really get it – not just rationally, but with every cell of your being!

The Truth about Being Positive

Here’s the truth – being positive is more than thinking positive thoughts.  Being positive is all about the energetic charge that radiates from you.  To just think positively is only part of it.  To feel positive emotion is the rest.

You’ve heard things like this a million times…

  • Positivity is the key to success and happiness.
  • Your outlook determines your outcome.
  • Your life is 10% what happens and 90% how you react.
  • When you raise your vibration, you raise the vibration of the world.
  • Stay positive and anything is possible.
  • Your NOW is all that matters.

And on and on and on…

And the thing is, it’s true.  BUT, if you are anything like I was, hearing that it is true isn’t the same and knowing that it is true. And that best thing I can do is help you KNOW it with every cell of your being.  Because when you KNOW it that deeply, making the choice to be negative becomes very difficult and your mission becomes always raising your vibration.

Let me start by telling you why positive thoughts and feelings REALLY matter to your happiness, success and fulfilment…

  1. We see what is going on differently when we process through a positive filter.
  2. We attach different meaning to what is going on when we process through a positive filter.
  3. We make different decisions when we process through a positive filter.

Keep in mind, a positive filter is more than just positive thoughts.  A positive filter includes positive emotion AND positive expectation.  There is also a certain amount of letting go that comes with a positive filter, because there is the expectation that things will work out for the best, there is less attachment to HOW we will force them to work out.

There is an essential element to having a positive filter – you must be rooted in the NOW.  ‘Now’ is where you tap into your source of infinite creation. ‘Now’ is our point of power and choice.

Here’s the proof…

I talk about proof all the time, so it’s time to give you proof that a positive filter REALLY does matter.

The most powerful kind of proof is the kind you provide yourself – so I have 2 scenarios that are going to help you do just that by using your own history.  Answer these questions and you will have all the proof you need…

  1. Think of a time when you were clearly processing through a negative filter. What were you like?  Did you see most things that were happening with a negative take on them? Did you attach negative meaning to most everything that was happening?  What kind of decisions did you make? Were your decisions based in fear, doubt or worry?  Did things seem to only get worse or stay the same no matter what you did? Did you have a sense that ‘nothing was going your way?’
  2. Think of a time when you were clearly processing through a positive filter. What were you like?  Did you see most things that were happening with a positive take on them? Did you attach positive meaning to most everything that was happening?  What kind of decisions did you make? Were your decisions based in confidence, faith and power?  Did things seem to just keep getting better? Did you have a sense that ‘everything was going your way’?

When you look at both of these times from your past and answer the questions I just gave you, it becomes very clear why a positive filter (positive thoughts, feelings, expectation) is ESSENTIAL. The first step to shifting to a positive filter is to get firmly rooted in the ‘Now’ – the second step is to start looking for positive proof.

You can shift your filter to positive in every single moment – you REALLY have that power. And once you completely understand why raising your vibration is the first and most important element in manifesting anything and everything you desire, then you will find a new commitment within yourself to always raise your vibration – higher and higher – always – and when you do, you will change your life and you will change the world!

Quick Tip Look Who’s Talking…
If you feel stuck with a negative filter, there are a few things you can do right away to get yourself unstuck.

  1. Ask yourself this question – “In the past, when have I been in a similar situation and it has gone great because I was using a positive filter?”
  2. “At that time, what was different about how I saw things? What was different about how I made my decisions? Was I looking at the problem or was I looking for the best and most beneficial way to do things?”
  3. If I were to pretend for just a minute that I was seeing this through a positive filter, how would I see it differently? What different options would show themselves to me? What decisions could I make differently?

Sometimes all you have to do to shift your filter is to pretend that you have a positive filter – in doing so, you trick your conscious mind into letting go and your subconscious can take over and shift your state!

    Hi. 🙂 I like this. It is true,very much. You have to feel your positive thinking and to let go your limited and negative beliefs and to feel good NOW! For years I had a problem of learning not to give in to negativity that was surounding me but in time and practice I teached myself to love the way of feeling positive and knowing what wilk I attract with that attitude.     OMG Kristen,

    You have just confirmed that this is the shifting that has been going on within me. I wake up in the morning with joy and happiness, expecting wonderful things to take place throughout my day and they do. I have always been a “glass half full” kind of person, but this positive “being” has transcended into every area of my life and I have a greater appreciation for life than I ever had.

    Happy Birthday Kristin,
    Starting off a new year is the best time to have positive thoughts and it’s true the more positive you can be about life and events it seems the less things will go wrong and even if they do if you put a positive spin on them your day and life goes by much smoothly. I used to live with a negative person and things started going wrong in our life and there was always a lot of stress and drama. I’m on my own now and although sometimes it can be lonely I’m finding happiness in my life now. I seem to constantly think of ways to put positive spins on whatever comes my way and I know I will get through it.

    Happy Birthday Kristen! What a great idea to learn from our own experiences of having used a positive or negative filter. Many of us have areas of our life where we find it relatively easy to be positive and others where we have more of a challenge. So using the former as inspiration when one of the latter challenges us can be very effective. Thanks as always for your wise words!
