Limiting Beliefs, The Brain, Hypnosis and LOA

Notice what you see and feel as you read these opening lines of Lewis Carroll’s Jabberwocky.
“Twas brillig, and the slythy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe.
All mimsy were the borogoves, and the mome raths outgrabe.”
What does “brillig” feel like?
What are “slythy toves” and “borogoves?”
When groups of people are asked these same questions, they give very different answers. You already know the reason. It’s because our brains are constantly making meaning of the world around us by seeing what we choose to see, and filtering out what we choose not to see.
When I was studying neurophysiology in college, it was pretty clear that we knew almost nothing about the brain (a fact which my wife, a neuroscience professor, still agrees with). One thing we do know is that our deeply held subconscious beliefs are constantly filtering our reality to help us make meaning of the world and keep us safe.
For that reason, the science community and the metaphysical community find that they are coming to the same conclusions (even though they often use different language for it). In essence, they’re discovering that “where thought goes, energy follows” and “whatever your beliefs know, you will attract.”
The good news is that those deep, unconscious filters can be triggered to work for you – to support you – automatically. That’s where hypnosis comes in.
Hypnosis triggers the brain to clean out old limiting beliefs that are no longer useful to you, and then supports you in installing new beliefs that help you perceive the world (and take action) in new ways.

So how can you tap into this transformational power in your brain?
Here are 3 self-guided tips to engage the power of unconscious attraction.
- Clean out your deep filters: once you identify an old belief – an old limitation or fear – write it down nice and big, on a clean sheet of paper. Then take a few minutes to shred that piece of paper (use your hands, tearing it into smaller and smaller pieces), and throw it away.
- Install new filters: your biggest job will be the creation of a clearly defined vision that calls you to your greatest self, because this is the most powerful [RESET] button for your brain’s computer.
- Reinforce & strengthen new filters: daily visualization practices (meditating while looking at a vision board, visualizing your arrival at the next milestone toward your vision, etc.) strengthen your beliefs. You can also stay focused on your vision throughout the day by repeating affirmations at certain times (every time you walk beneath a door frame, every time you see a yellow car, etc.).
Each of these activities creates a trance-state that engages your brain’s powerful unconscious learning systems to create the energy of attraction.
|Quick Tip||Look Who’s Talking…|
|Any limiting beliefs you have were formed, at one time, in an attempt to protect you from a perceived threat. Notice I said ‘perceived’. It doesn’t matter if the threat was real at the time, what matters is that it is no longer real and THAT is the source of the limitation within the belief.
Now, what matters here is this…
We spend SO much time judging our limiting beliefs and hating them. When in fact, the fastest way to release them is to send them love. Love allows you to release and let go, judgment and hatred force you to hold on.
So, love them and let them go. Simply say, “I hear you, I love you, I release you!”
