Is Goal Trauma Blocking Your Path to Success?

Have you ever wanted something so badly, but it fell apart after you did everything in your power to make it happen? And as a result, you:
- Trust yourself less
- Trust other people and the Universe less
- Are more skeptical of the idea that anything is possible
If so, you have goal trauma and it’s casting a dark cloud over new goals and your willingness to really go after them.
Goals are powerful tools that can dramatically increase your success and grow your wealth, if used properly. But if you have goal trauma, and unless you make a sincere effort to clear it, you are unlikely to fulfill any goal that is worthy of true and monumental success.
With trauma, you become much more conservative about thinking big and you avoid getting your hopes up when setting new goals. Instead of approaching them with a fresh and willing attitude, you feel stressed and anxious and are less resilient when challenges occur. Rather than jump into action, you’ll procrastinate, take half-hearted steps, or be indecisive about what to do. You have a personal power shortage hindering you from fulfilling new income goals and earning more money.
Why pursue a goal if you don’t trust yourself or if you believe it’s impossible based on your experience in the past?
While you can’t undo the past, you can make a massive shift in how you see past events.
The reality, whether it is readily visible to you yet or not, is that you learned a lot of lessons about what you’re doing and about your perceived strengths and weaknesses. Looking back into the past should not be a roadblock to future success: it should be insight into how you can become better, smarter, and actually MORE likely to succeed.
In looking back, you can also learn to recognize patterns, like self–criticism, that you go into because of these past traumas.
Putting yourself and your abilities down will almost always sabotage your success.
When you have goal trauma, it looms darkly as a cautionary tale of what can go wrong and the mistakes you might make as you set a new income goal. Having such an emotionally charged event like this that you never honor keeps it with you. Until you honor the grief, loss, and pain, it stays stuck.

|For every single ‘goal’ that didn’t work out as planned, I can guarantee there is a powerful and positive message you can take from it. If you are like many folks, you know what it feels like to look back at something that was disappointing and think “OH! I get it – that is why that happened!” So, the trick is to look at any of your goal traumas and do this exact exercise.
Ask “When I look at this again now, what are all of the positive reasons (that I couldn’t see then) that this happened?” NOW, this requires you to be willing to see the positive reasons – I promise, when you are willing to do this, brilliant things are revealed and your entire negative energy around that situation shifts and raises and empowers you.
