5 Steps To Amazing Health through Goal Setting
and the Law of Attraction

Let me tell you a story about my friend Sandra, a busy mom who was able to lose over 50 pounds using the Law of Attraction!

Sandra is an amazing, hardworking mom of three children. Like many of us, she sometimes feels exhausted by the endless tasks of cooking dinner, cleaning her house, driving her kids, soccer practice…you get the drift.

Over the last couple of years Sandra noticed that her weight has been creeping up. What’s worse, while she used to be able to skip lunch for a couple days or go on a diet to lose extra pounds, these methods were no longer working.

The slow but steady weight gain starting adding up, though Sandra was too busy to really notice at first.

One day, when she stepped on the scale at the doctor’s office, she was shocked to see she had gained over 50 pounds since her wedding eight years before! How had this happened?

Sandra realized she really needed to do something to make a significant change, but knew that dieting wasn’t the answer for her. But what could she do?

Sandra thought back to her earlier life challenges. After having her first child, she had used goal setting and Law of Attraction principles to achieve financial freedom and become a full time at-home mom. Sandra also attributes finding her husband to successfully using visualization techniques.

Suddenly it occurred to her, why don’t I try using the same principles to achieve my weight loss goals?

After this revelation, things fell into place for Sandra. By using creative visualization and abolishing her limiting beliefs, Sandra was able to drop 50 pounds over 9 months and achieve what she considers her perfect weight, 130 pounds.

The following steps can be used to help you achieve your weight loss goals, as well as any health or wellness goals.

Step 1: Define exactly what you want.

While nearly everyone has goals, people often have non-specific or vague goals such as “I want to lose weight,” or “I want to feel better.” While these are a great start, it’s important that you choose specific goals for yourself.

A really great question to ask yourself is, “What would I be doing with my life if I knew that I could successfully do anything?” Seriously, what would you want if it were impossible to fail?

For example, a specific goal is, “I want to lose 50 pounds of fat” or “I want to live every day pain-free.”

Step 2: Remove any resistance that will prevent you from achieving your goals.

Many people want to skip over this part, though it is one of the most crucial steps. A good way to start is by writing down any beliefs or habits you feel may be holding you back.

In order for the Law of Attraction to work best, you must truly believe you deserve the positive changes that are coming your way, or you may be letting opportunities pass you by.

A very common hurdle towards implementing the Law of Attraction is getting stuck thinking helpless thoughts like “life just happens” or “this is the hand I was dealt.”

Remember, you do have the power to change your life, and that realization is essential to your success. Don’t let limiting beliefs get in between you and your goals!

There is no reason to feel bad for having desires. It is commendable and admirable to want to live a fuller, happier life. A common challenge, especially for mothers, is being too much of a people pleaser and always thinking of others before yourself.

For Sandra, she realized she would often think things like, “I don’t have enough time to take care of my body” and “I don’t deserve to spend time working out when I have so many other things I should be doing.”

In order to succeed, Sandra needed to replace these thoughts with, “I deserve to have time to myself,” and “I help others best when I take care of myself first.”

You will drastically speed up your results when you replace these types of limiting beliefs with more positive counterparts.

Regard your thoughts as a powerful tool that you can utilize to achieve your goals. Your thoughts and beliefs are either helping you or hurting you, and you have the power to control them.

Step 3: Make a plan of action toward achieving your goals.

You may be thinking, I’ve heard this a million times. That is because a plan of action is so important!

When creating an action plan, be as realistic as you can. Don’t set yourself up for disappointment with a plan of action that you know you will never keep.

If you’ve never used your gym membership, acknowledge that the gym might not be the right solution for you. You may be happier joining a class or activity that is fun and interactive.

These days there are fitness classes and groups about nearly every activity, whether you enjoy yoga, dancing, cycling, roller blading, skiing, or even fitness video games!

Sandra’s plan of action was to try a new fitness activity every month until she found something she loved. She found a babysitter to watch her kids after school and made a deal to have her husband cook dinner on her “fitness days.”

For Sandra, dance classes ended up being the perfect way to get in shape while meeting fun new people at the same time.

Step 4: Use visualization techniques every single day.

There are millions of techniques to visualize effectively, but at its core, visualization is simply the ability to see, in your mind, the life you want as if it were already happening.

Do you find yourself spending a big part of your day focusing on what it is you don’t have, and how your life would be better if only BLANK happened? Congratulations, you are using the Law of Attraction right now, to attract a state of not having what you want, and needing BLANK.

To turn this around, you need to find a way that allows you to immerse yourself in a vision where you have already achieved your goals.

Use your imagination to paint a vision of your perfect life in your mind, and keep coming back to this vision. This plants a seed in your subconscious that continues to grow until it becomes your new reality.

So how do you visualize? A good way to start is by writing down a brief story about your ideal day. Focus on your five senses, what do you see, hear, taste, touch, smell? How do you feel emotionally? The more detailed and specific your story is, the better.

In order for visualization to be the most effective, it needs to be done consistently. Repetition and emotion are key components to effective visualization, which is why tools likes Mind Movies work so well. Think about it, people don’t make transformational changes in their lives by thinking about a change one time and forgetting about it.

Visualization can help you take control of the way you feel and take charge of the direction of your life. By visualizing yourself living your dream life every day, your thoughts and actions will become aligned with what you want.

Once your mind is anchored in the state you want to live in, it is absolutely amazing how fast the universe will fall into place around you.

Step 5: Take concrete steps to implement your plan of action.

I know that life happens, and it can be hard to stick with your plan. You may find it helpful to realize that you can change your plan whenever you want. As long as you are doing something, you are making steady progress to achieve your goals.

Even the wrong actions often help us in unexpected ways. Don’t become paralyzed trying to create the perfect plan. Instead, keep an open mind and watch out for opportunities related to your goal. Live in the moment and be ready to change your plan as needed.

Remember to stay confident that you can achieve all your goals! Don’t just go through the motions, feel your new life coming to you as if you’ve already achieved it.

This confident attitude will signal to the universe that you are ready to receive your greatest wishes and desires.

Sandra stayed confident that the Law of Attraction would work for her weight loss goals. Despite momentary setbacks, she knew that failure was impossible as long as she didn’t give up. By sticking to her goals, action plans and regularly visualizing, she was able to lose 50 pounds and keep it off.

    I’d like to share a handy tip and that is that if we tell our subconscious mind we are releasing the weight instead of losing the weight it will keep the weight off. This is because the mind automatically wants to find the things we lose, like our keys or wallet.
