Eccentric Millionaire’s Success Secrets
By Carl Harvey
Late last year I flew to Wellington, my girlfriend Rebecca’s hometown, on a whirlwind trip to meet her close family and friends.
Whilst there I was lucky to spend a few hours with a dude she calls her “extra dad” – a step-father figure who put her up in his (amazing) home when she was going through a rough patch, several years ago.
Peter is a brilliant man: a self-made millionaire, kind, funny… and ever so slightly eccentric.
OK… he’s very eccentric 🙂
Naturally, I loved the bloke, and spent hours quizzing him about his ideas and philosophies around success.
One of my biggest ah-ha moments was when he looked me in the eye and said:
“Carl… you must always think big! You always get from life what you think you’ll get… so make sure to think big!”
Wow. A super successful dude who’s into what sounds an awful lot like the Law of Attraction…?!
I pressed him further, searching for more details. Where exactly did he get his philosophy?
“I attribute my success to one book. And when I read it – and applied it – my life took off… Read this book and use it, and you’ll see for yourself…”
Keep Reading to find out the ONE BOOK he told him to read…
FREE ‘Quantum Leap Guided Visualization’ mp3…
That book turned out to be David J. Schwartz’s ‘The Magic of Thinking Big’.
Funnily enough, I’d never read it… so the very day I landed back in Sydney, I hunted around the CBD’s bookshops until I tracked down a copy – the last one on the shelf 🙂
I devoured it in two days… it’s a great read. In fact, I highly recommend you get a copy for your own ‘success library’.
To give you a taste now, however, one quote summarizes the big idea behind the book perfectly:
“Think big and you’ll live big. You’ll live big in happiness. You’ll live big in accomplishment. Big in income. Big in friends. Big in respect”.
Simple… but so powerful.
Since then, I’ve been making every effort to ‘think bigger’… in the way I see my life, the deals I make, even the emails I write to my subscribers.
I’m constantly trying to stretch my thinking.
And it’s paying off:
I closed the biggest deal in the company I’m consulting for’s 20-year-history… Took my business to record weeks and months… Went on a cracking 3 week vacation… Got offered my dream job at Mindvalley… Got an endorsement from THE star of ‘The Secret’…
In fact, lots of ‘big’, cool stuff is going on 🙂
All from switching up my thinking, and realizing the only limits I face are the ones I make up myself.
So your tip for today is simple: THINK BIG.
See yourself reaching all your goals.
Make your dreams bigger, grander, more exciting.
Aim higher than you ever have before.
Naturally, visualization is the perfect tool to help you think bigger… because it enables you to see, hear and feel yourself ACTING BIG – inside the safety of your imagination.
In my opinion the best way to ‘think big’ is to ‘visualize big’… because visualization uses ALL your senses and feels more REAL.
Remember: your subconscious cannot tell the difference between a real memory and a vividly imagined one… so ‘trick’ it by using ALL your senses! 🙂
Take time today to imagine yourself acting BIG … see, hear and feel yourself being the biggest possible version of you, you can be…
But if you struggle to generate vivid scenes – or strong positive emotions – when you try this, don’t panic:
This takes all the ‘trial and error’ out of visualizing, because I actually guide you the whole way. Within a few minutes you’ll be imagining your #1 goal being completed in glorious detail 🙂
This is the simplest way to think – and feel – BIG!
And: remember to stretch your thinking today.
Shut your eyes now and imagine your ‘bigger’ life.
Aim a little higher. Demand a bit more – of yourself, and others.
Don’t settle for second best.
Think big, baby.
“Well Kristen, Thank you very much for being there to recognize and teach us that we are ALL awesome and amazing souls experiencing this planet we call home and the joyous “experience” of being human!!
If you want to think bigger than you have allowed yourself to think before, here is one of my favorite (and really simple) exercises…
Grab a piece of paper and set a timer for 10 minutes. You are going to do an automatic writing exercise (which simply means you write stream of conscious without thinking your thoughts out or editing as you go, just write whatever comes out and keep going without editing.)
Now, at the top of your paper write “If it was guaranteed to be a success, I would…” (and YES please do this hand written – it is MUCH more powerful this way).
Then you are going to start the 10 minute timer and WRITE – remember, this is automatic writing, don’t think about it, WRITE 🙂 – this isn’t about what seems possible, this is about letting your mind go big without imposing any limitations on it.
Try this for 7 days straight and you will be amazed at what is revealed to you! Are you in for the 7 day challenge? Let me know – leave a comment that says “I’m in!” and I’ll know you are going for it (and that is already Going BIG!)
