Entrepreneur By Choice or Necessity – 3 Tips You Need Now

The world is changing…

I’ve been coaching people for years to find their passion and turn it into a business. I have coached people just starting out and I have helped current business owners maximize their businesses to multi million dollar businesses and there was one thing that all of my clients had in common…

They were Entrepreneurs by choice.

But now things are different…

People who never thought about starting their own business are suddenly forced to think about it. People are getting laid off or living under the impending doom of being laid off or at the least having their pay significantly cut and it is turning people into Entrepreneurs not out of choice but out of necessity.

There is a tidal wave of people who feel that they have to attract money fast AND they can NO LONGER rely on their job to do it.

  • I see great possibility in this time…
  • I see the opportunity for many to actually discover something they love and turn it into a business…
  • I see the potential freedom for all of these people…

BUT I know there are lessons they will need to learn and because many of you are now entrepreneurs by necessity, I want to help you shorten the learning curve as much as possible.

  • I know you feel like you need to attract money fast…
  • I know you feel like you lack the luxury of time to discover what it is you really want to do…
  • I know you are seriously pushing your comfort zone…

Whether you are an entrepreneur by choice or necessity, I know you are going through all of this because I went through it too and I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made and shorten your journey where mine was long and painful.

I have received more emails than I can count from my subscribers telling me about this opportunity and that opportunity and that they don’t know what to do and which direction to go and how not to make mistakes. I know if you have someone guiding you openly and honestly you are more likely to start to succeed quickly!

So let me give you 3 tips right now:

1. I know you feel rushed, but you MUST take a few minutes to decide what areas of focus actually excite you. I promise you that when you start as an entrepreneur, if you start in an area you love, your chances for success increase by almost 80%.

2. Do your due diligence! There are 8 million people out there saying they have the opportunity that will make you a millionaire or financially free or an extra 10k per month. Some of them are legit and many are not. Do your due diligence. Find out everything you can about them and their success rate. Ask people you respect if they know anything about them. ALWAYS talk to someone at the company first before you dive in. How you are handled now is a great indicator of how you will be handled if you use their system or product or coaching.

3. Stick with 1 thing! I talk about this a lot in my coaching…I call it the ‘Something Shiny’ Epidemic. This is where you are so excited about an idea that you are sure is going to make you the money you need fast that you jump in, BUT the second another opportunity comes to you, you are lured to it because it seems like it might get you money faster. Trust me…I lived like this for a while and all this did was put me in debt. It wasn’t until I took a second to only look at opportunities that excited me THEN did my due diligence and THEN chose 1 and STUCK WITH IT that my life turned around. Learn from my mistakes on this one!

  1. Awesome post. Sticking with one thing is so true. The way I was told to look at it made sense. Take 100% energy, and look at what is dividing it up. If you work, have a family, and doing a business, that’s 33.3% alloted to each thing if you distribute you time equally to each. Or if you work 8 hours, and you devote 8 hours to your business, that’s 50/50. You get the point…

My passion has been real estate for more than 34 years, so that’s not the problem. The problem is what facet of real estate I want to pursue, as my energies are divided among residential real estate, commercial real estate, owning my building and, complicating things, both in Nevada and California. What comes across as clearly as can be is my need to attract the people I need to help me pursue all of those aspects. When I really needed some people to help me sit four open houses on Saturday, they appeared: My husband, my assistant and my virtual tour photographer. It is possible, yes, it is.

You are spot on. I have done the same things you have just mentioned. I have made so many mistakes and I am sure I am not done. Why does it seem that it all boiles down to money. I have great ideas and are moving forward, but seems you move two steps forward then lose three steps. I know I have to continue to believe to succeed. It is hard not coming from a business backround and truly I have so much more to learn. I want to thank again for your words of encouragement.

Excellent post Kristen! I seem to be both – an entrepreneur by choice because that’s where my heart is; and by necessity because I would have to work 24/7, 365 in a regular j-o-b to reach my goals. There just isn’t enough time in one day.

Sticking with one thing is VERY good advice! Thank you.

    Hi Kristen,

What you said really makes a lot of sense.

I can relate to those pointers having learned from many failed income earning projects for those said reasons.

    Thanks for sharing.

Sticking to one thing is not easy when your ceative and exited! But its common sense that aint common after all….thanx for reminding me of the obvious – im a lateral thinker by nature but often dont see the linear!

If possible, lift your heart high in the bird perspective.
What do you see? and what you could not see before?
Everything that you could not see before, is now been revealed to you, and more will be revealed to you if you are ready to respond to the Lord when He calls you. This gift will be obvious to those who believe in him with a pure and loving heart. For as the heavenly treasure is, there your heart will remain.

    Hi Kristen,
This sounds a lot like me. You have just given me a clue on what has been making me fail dismally and leave me penniless. I am now sticking to my passion of wedding planner and decorator. Love you lots…

YOU made my day!!!!!! Bless you a million times.

    Dear Kristen,
So many articles! Do this…Do that…visualize…do due diligence…pick up one thing…mind blowing stuff!
If the entire MIND gets blown away you are left with a BLANK HEAD.
Jokes apart…I do think you talk a lot of sense.
I have gone through your articles and EACH & EVERY ARTICLE UNDER THE SUN written by all the LAW OF ATTRACTION EXPERTS of the world.I liked your way of thinking and to a large extent the way of thinking of Valerie(Dawson).
I have to have my “PROSPERITY CONSCIOUSNESS” at any cost.No more biting the dust and settling for MEDIOCRITY ANY MORE.I want to see “that” smile on the faces of my beloved wife,my son & daughter.
    Look forward to your help.
