Discipline is only causing you pain?

In life there is pain…

That doesn’t mean life has to be painful…

But there will be pain…

I want to talk about 2 specific types of pain — these aren’t the only types, but they are the 2 kinds that determine a lot about the life you design — or don’t design…

So what are they?

1. The pain of discipline

2. The pain of regret

Now don’t get me wrong here…

You know I am all about creating a life of flow and ease and not forcing your life…

Which leads me to the pain of discipline –

Let me rename it to– The pain of consistently pushing your comfort zone in order to move you toward your goals…

That’s really what it is…

Just discipline to be disciplined can rob you of a lot of joy…

And so many of us see crazy strict discipline AND will power as the only way to get what we want — but the pain of that random and meeningless discipline is EXACTLY why we consistently choose NOT to follow through.

That’s why we need to redefine it IMMEDIATELY so that you can start to thrive…

Here’s what I want you to do…

Throw out discipline and will power –

You heard me…

Throw it out!

Now before you get all giddy, here’s what I can tell you…

What I am going to ask you to replace discipline and will power with will make you VERY uncomfortable…

BUT it will also bring you results!

Replece discipline and will power with choosing to consistently push your comfort zone in order to move you toward your goals…

Every day…

Don’t just do things to be disciplined…

Do them, because they make you uncomfortable AND will move you toward what you want…

Doing this will save you from the worst pain of all…

The pain of REGRET…

I Challenge you…

I have a challenge for you this weekend!

Here’s the deal…

I want you to live and extraordinary life!

  • This isn’t just about money
  • This isn’t just about love
  • This isn’t just about health
  • This isn’t just about purpose
  • This isn’t just about fun
  • This isn’t just about spirituality
  • This isn’t just about Joy and Relationships and Creativity…

This is about your COMPLETE LIFE!

There are too many people wandering around, settling for mediocre, accepting a version of themselves that is less than what they want and can be, do and have!

So I have a challenge for you…

And it’s not going to be what you’d think…

  • I’m not going to ask you how you can move forward toward your goals this weekend…
  • I’m not going to try to inspire you to believe you can be, do and have all that you desire…
  • I’m not going to give you tough love and ask you to claim responsibility for everything that happens to you from this moment forward…
  • I’m just going to ask you to do 1 thing and this 1 thing will be the start of greatness…

What is it then?

I’ll tell you…

I challenge you to do 1 thing for yourself this weekend!

Just decide to do 1 thing…

Take 1 moment to appreciate yourself in some way…

I PROMISE you it will be harder than you think…

I PROMISE you that this is the start to your extraordinary life!

When you appreciate yourself — you appreciate other people more

When you give to yourself — you have more to give

When you love yourself — you become boundless love

Are you overwhelmed?

Are you overwhelmed by your list?

You know what I’m talking about…

The dreaded ‘To Do List’!

If you are, you certainly aren’t alone!

Here’s what I want you to do right now…

Grab your list

Do these 2 steps:

  1. For everything on the list ask yourself this, “Will doing this move me forward, sideways or backwards?”
    (I know it seems odd that there would be a backwards, but let me put it this way, if it’s on your list to help you procrastinate and avoid doing something that would REALLY move you forward than it qualifies.)
  2. Keep, Leverage & Get Rid Of: This is how you handle the items now that they are labeled Forward, Sideways, Backwards

Forward: Keep
Sideways: Ask yourself if this really needs to be done, if the answer is ‘Yes’ then is there someone else you can leverage it to?
Backwards: GET RID OF IT!

Seriously…if you really want to get yourself moving toward the things you desire you HAVE to get rid of the things that are on your ‘To Do’ list that aren’t moving you closer to what you want.

I could literally right 20 more posts just on how to maximize the things you are spending your time doing and getting out from under the feeling of being overwhelmed, but this is a GREAT start.

Do it now!

I guarantee you there are at least 3 things you can get rid of if you are completely honest with yourself…
