We all have habits that support our desires and we all have physical habits that sabotage our desires –

Okay, we all know that, but let’s take this a step further…

We even have emotional habits and that is what is SO powerful…I call these emotional habits ‘Habits of Expectation’ –

Let me tell you what I mean…

On one of my recent VIP calls, someone was talking about how they have realized that when money comes in, she doesn’t take time to be happy about it because she instantly gets triggered into a state of lack because it “still isn’t enough” — she told me how she knows that it is so important that she start attaching good energy and expectation to when money comes in, but she is having trouble with that shift…

I told her that she is having that challenge because the feeling of ‘still isn’t enough’ is her habit — and she needs to replace that habit with her new feeling habit…

Now, the thing of it is, we all get the concept of physical habits, but when it comes to emotional habits, we forget that we have the same power.

Let me give you a perfect example of how every living being has emotional habits (which I like to call Habits of Expectation)…

I have 2 cats and our morning routine usually is that they come and wake me up when they are ready to be fed in the morning — they literally circle like sharks and meow and bat at my legs until I feed them.

Now, let me go back 2 months — 2 months ago they got fed with an auto feeder — and for various reasons (that don’t matter to this story) I had to take them off the auto feeder…

Well — YIPPEE for me, this morning was the first morning BACK on the auto feeder –

Now, here is where we get into the perfect example of Habits of Expectation…

The auto feeder went off and they looked at it, saw that food was coming out, but out of habit they started circling me like sharks until I took them over to the bowl and showed them that the food was already there.

Their Habit of Expectation was that they still needed something from me EVEN THOUGH what they wanted had already shown up…

Now, here’s what I know…

In 3 days they will have replaced their habit of expectation and won’t circle me like sharks when they are hungry.

It’s the same for you! What are your habits of expectation? What ‘food’ may already be in the food bowl but you aren’t even seeing it? Pay attention — there is SO much power in this!

You can change your Habits of Expectation if you persist!

Because here’s the deal…

This IS your life –

So, are you going to play to win? Or are you going to play NOT to lose?

Do you see the difference? Because the difference is everything…

Ring a bell?

I know it does for me…

For years I was so scared of choosing to focus in one direction for fear that I would have to put everything else aside forever…

Well, I have a secret for you…

I was wrong — I mean W R O N G!

I was so busy trying to do everything at the same exact time, that I was getting nowhere fast!

I realized that I could have everything I wanted if I would just set up my time in chunks of focus — but the key to my success with this is that when I would block off time to focus on something, that was the ONLY thing I would focus on during that time…

No emails

No phone calls

No distractions

Then, I would shift to the next chunk of time that was dedicated to something else and ONLY focus on that…

And what happened?

My life changed –

My WHOLE life changed…

I had more money coming in than I ever had before

I was able to say ‘Yes’ to more opportunities

My relationships thrived

My health/body/fitness went from being that last thing I took time for to a consistent focus

My sense of peace increased significantly

And more and more and more…

So, what’s my point?

I’ll tell you –

You CAN be, do and have everything you desire when you schedule the time to focus on each thing — one thing at a time!

Try it — for one week — you’ll be amazed!

“Are you your own advocate?”

You may have heard that you need to be your own advocate when it comes to your health care, and that is so true…

But, I want to take this a step further…

You need to be your own advocate in EVERY area of your life…

• With health
• With money
• With relationships
• With business
• With your home or your car
• With your dreams
• With EVERYTHING…

Take care of yourself, ask questions, when you instinctually feel that something is important — make sure it happens…

I know that sometimes it is easier to just go along with things even if they don’t feel exactly right, I know that being your own advocate will sometimes cause you to have to push your comfort zone…

But please do it! Right now, commit to being your own advocate in EVERY area of your life…

Trust yourself…

Always hold your best interests in your heart and act from there…

Can you do that?

THAT is what I mean…

Once you know that — you are free — people may question you (based on their limiting belief sets or past experiences) BUT if you know you are acting from good intentions, that is what mattters…

Know who you are — believe in yourself — and know you deserve all of the abundance, joy, fulfillment and peace that you can imagine (and more)…

Sure, it may take some ups and downs (that’s okay, and natural) –

But the thing that will take you through all of the ups and downs and ebbs and flows, is knowing who YOU are –

I know who you are — You are extraordinary! I am honored to know you…

Who are you ready to be?

Notice I didn’t ask “What are you ready to have?”

So many people give 100% of their focus to what they are going to achieve or have — things like…

• I’m going to get out of debt
• I’m going to have a successful business
• I’m going to lose 50 pounds
• I’m going to have a wonderful, supportive, romantic relationship

etc. etc. etc.

Now, don’t get me wrong — those are great things…

BUT I want you to really think about my first question — so I’ll ask it again…

• Who are you ready to be?
• What kind of person are you ready to be?
• How are you ready to act?
• How are you ready to push yourself?
• How are you ready to treat other people?
• How are you ready to treat yourself?
• How are you ready to demand to be treated?
• How are you ready to love?
• How are you ready to live?
• How are you ready to trust?

etc. etc. etc.

Get the idea?

I’ll tell you this…

Who you are ready to be — has more to do with what you desire to have than you may realize –

There isn’t another way…

What you have in your life won’t change unless you change

• How you make decisions
• How you handle success
• How you handle failure and mistakes
• How you handle your time
• How you set up boundries
• How you value yourself
• What you consistently focus on
• How you translate the things that happen in your life

and on and on and on…

If you are waiting for your life to change from the outside…

You are going to be waiting forever…

So…I’ll ask you again…

And today I want to introduce you to one of the most powerful questions there is…

I know SO MANY of you are frustrated and feel like you are banging your head against a wall wondering WHEN will you finally have the success you are looking for…

I get emails about it all the time — emails that say things like:

• “Kristen, I’m doing everything I can think of, but I still don’t have enough money…”
• “Kristen, I’m doing everything I can think of, but I still haven’t lost the last 20 pounds…”
• “Kristen, I’m doing everything I can think of, but I still haven’t met my soul mate…”
• “Kristen, I’m doing everything I can think of, but I still don’t have enough time…”
• “Kristen, I’m doing everything I can think of, but I still don’t have enough opportunities…”

and the list goes on…

I know you are nodding your head right now in agreement — I know you know what this feels like — I’ve been there too…

UNTIL

I shifted my focus — this is what I did…

I asked myself a different question than I had ever asked myself before –

Do you want to know what that question was?

Of course you do…here it is…

I asked myself this…

“Who do I need to be to have ___________ ?”

Here’s another great follow up question to that one…

“What do I need to believe to have ____________?”

And another powerful question…

“How do I need to act and look at life and handle setbacks to have ___________?”

Here’s the deal…

Whatever you want, I guarantee there is proof in this world that it is possible because I promise you someone else has it –

Study those people that have what you want –

• Who are they?
• What do they believe?
• What do they focus on?
• How do they handle setbacks?
• What do they expect?

This works for EVERYTHING –

Whether you want

• More money
• To lose weight
• To be a famous artist
• To have a successful business
• To find the love of your life
• To excel at your current job
• To discover your passion and purpose

etc. etc. etc.

STOP looking at what you don’t have and instead focus on who you have to be to have what you want…

I promise you that right now you are EXACTLY who you need to be to have what you currently have — and I know you are ready to change that!

This is what you most often hear…

Spend 80% of your time on the 20% of actions that get you results

Well…I have a different example of 80/20 that flips it on it’s ear a bit…

Here you go…

Spend 20% of your time on the 80% of your customers that waste your time.

WHAT? What do I mean by that?

Here’s the deal…

80% of your customers, prospects, clients etc. WASTE YOUR TIME…

In fact, some of them waste so much of your time that they pull you from working on the 20% of actions that get you the MOST (80%) of your results!

Clients fight me on this all the time…

They don’t want to devalue their customers, prospects, clients etc.

And that isn’t what I’m suggesting…you should value everyone until they stop valuing you and your time!

Here’s an example:

I was recently working with one of my 1-on-1 clients on this and she was having a really hard time with it…

She had a customer that was wasting tons of her time…

This customer had bought an ebook from her for $19.95 and was sending her at least 2-3 emails per day with different issues and challenges and cries for help –

She asked me what I thought she should do…

I said, “Give him a refund”

WHAT? But that’s money I’m throwing down the drain…

I asked her how much time this guy had already taken from her — and she figured it to be about 60 minutes and counting…

I asked her how much people pay her per hour to consult with them personally — she said $150…

Have I made my point? Does that make sense?

There are some people that are going to be more work than they are worth…

I know that sounds cruel…

And I don’t mean it personally…I’m not saying those people aren’t worth it, but just because they are buying from you doesn’t mean they own you…they need to value you and your time too…

So, in her case, I told her to either lay down some boundries OR refund him…

She refunded him…

I promise you the 60 minutes she gained will be much more valuable in the end — especially since he had all the signs of someone that was going to ask for a refund anyway (it just would have been AFTER he wasted much more of her time)…

Don’t get so wrapped up trying to fix things for your high maitenance customers that you take time away from your dream customers!

This rule applies for every area of your life — ESPECIALLY personal relationships (but that’s a much more touchy subject, so I went at it from a business standpoint)…

Fear was on my mind on my walk today, I was thinking about a coaching client of mine.

She is faced with an opportunity right now and when it was brought to her she was immediately hit with fear.

On our call today, she told me all of the wild thoughts that threw themselves at her at warp speed when she first got the call with this opportunity.

Before I share her thoughts with you (and yes, she gave me approval to do so) I feel it’s important to know that there is NO MONEY at stake, there are NO CONTRACTS being signed, DEATH could not be a result, hell INJURY isn’t even a possibility.

Back to her attacking thoughts…these are the primary thoughts that hurled themselves at her…

• ‘What if it only seems like an opportunity but it’s not?’
• ‘What if it’s too much work and doesn’t fit into my life how I want it to?”
• “What if I hate it?”
• “What if it fails?”
• “What if I waste my time?’

…You get the idea.

Fear is such a huge factor in our lives…it becomes a great reason NOT to do things, get involved, connect, try…live.

The funny thing to me is how we phrase our fears…here are some examples of what we tell ourselves…

• ‘I’m scared to fly’
  (No you’re not…you’re scared to die)
• ‘I’m scared to love’
  (No you’re not…you’re scared that you won’t be loved back)
• ‘I’m scared to try a new sport, language, hobby, business.’
  (No you’re not your scared you’ll look stupid)
• ‘I’m scared to start my own business.’
  (No you’re not…you’re scared you’ll fail)
• ‘I’m scared to reach out to that casting director’
  (No you’re not…you’re scared they’ll tell you you’re not talented)
• ‘I’m scared to tell them how much I love them’
  (No you’re not…you’re scared they won’t care)
• ‘I’m scared to commit to __________.’
  (No you’re not, you’re scared if you commit you lose the power to choose)

And the list goes on…

We attach fear to the wrong thing…we attach it to the action when really what we are scared of is some potential negative feeling/emotion/result.

If we took EVERYTHING that anyone claims they are scared of I guarantee it boils down to a few basic fears:

• Fear of death or injury (to you or someone you love).
• Fear of rejection
• Fear of looking stupid
• Fear of failure

Boiled down even further…what we are scared of in one word is PAIN.

And the thing about people is, for the most part, we will most likely take action to avoid PAIN than we will to achieve pleasure.

BUT BUT BUT

Isn’t living life in a LESS THAN way PAINFUL?

It is for me…it sucks…I hate it…I wish I got zapped with electricity every time I chose the pain of safety over the possibility of pain with something new or out of the box that could bring me great joy.

That’s what I mean by ‘Go Big’…to me ‘Going Big’ means choosing to go toward what has a chance to bring me great joy even though it may not…because if I don’t ‘Go Big’ I am guaranteed 1 thing and 1 thing only, and that is the pain of living a life that is ‘less than’.

So my questions for you today are:

What does ‘Go Big’ mean to you?
