How do I Attract Money by Finding My Purpose?

I’m assuming you’ve gone through the other posts about finding your purpose.

At this point, you have:

  • Created your ‘Purpose List’
  • Discovered where in your life you can spend more time on the things on your ‘Purpose List’
  • Taken Inspired Action to actively spend 10 minutes a day on something on your ‘Purpose List’

If you aren’t this far along, go back to the other ‘Find Your Purpose’ posts and do the exercises etc. and then come back here.

So what do you do now?

Creating a ‘Purpose List’ and actually finding a way to live your purpose and attract money by living your purpose are very different things.

I need you to use your imagination now AND I need you to promise NOT to judge yourself or the answers you come up with in the exercise I am about to give you. I guarantee you, it won’t be easy because I am going to ask you to ignore what you accept as reality and brainstorm…

Are you ready?

The sooner you do this, and the more fully you do it (even if it seems ridiculous) the closer you are to living your purpose AND attracting money by living your purpose…

Does that sound good or great?

By the way, before we get into this exercise, a word on practicality and what’s possible…

What’s possible is only limited by what you believe is possible…

If Walt Disney, Oprah Winfrey, Richard Branson and Bill Gates all bought into what most people believe to be possible, do you think they would have achieved the things that they have? Of course not…

Keep that in mind and be brave enough to think big…

Trust me, we’ll absolutely throw out some of the ideas you come up with, but you have to let your brain and imagination run wild to discover your real purpose.

Let’s go…

  1. Pull out a pen and paper
  2. Set a timer for 5 minutes
  3. Brainstorm as many things that you can think of that you could do that combine the top 2 or 3 things on your ‘Purpose List’.
  4. Put the piece of paper with everything you just wrote away and don’t reread it, edit it or even look at it again until I tell you to in the next post. (There’s a reason for this, you’re just gonna have to trust me.)

Tips:

    • Don’t think if it’s possible for you to make money doing it.
    • Don’t skip it if it isn’t something that already exists.
    • Write it all down, every crazy; out there, “How the heck would I ever do that” thought that pops into your brain.

The first step to making money from your purpose is brainstorming, then we can go from there to hone in on your perfect Purpose Driven, do what you love and the money will follow, idea! More on that next time…for now do this step and then put your paper away until next time…

Go Big!

If you don’t know what you want, The Law of Attraction doesn’t work

If you had asked me what I wanted a few years ago, I would have fumbled around for an answer and come up with that I wanted more money and more success and to feel excited about my life. But if you had asked me to get specific, I would have been flustered.

Why?

For me, it was a couple of things…

  1. I knew there was MUCH MORE for me, but I couldn’t quite put a finger on what it was.
  2. I was terrified to try to define it, because I didn’t want to attract the wrong thing.

I was never one of those people that thought the Law of Attraction doesn’t work. In fact, I always had complete faith that it works and that is what froze me at times, because I didn’t want to put the power of the law of attraction into manifesting something that I didn’t really want or worse, thought I wanted because I was feeling fearful and desperate.

And because I didn’t get specific, I attracted a whole bunch of things that fit my general requests, but they were never quite right.

For example…in 2 weeks time, I went from making less than $1000/month (in New York City…YIKES) to making OVER $5000/month. BUT…once the excitement wore off, I realized I was making money doing something that I didn’t want to do.

I adjusted, got specific and started attracting what I DID want and this taught me that you can always adjust your focus and change what you are attracting.

The moral of the story is that it is better to get specific and use the power of the Law of Attraction to attract what you are focusing on and then, if you need to, redefine your focus as you discover more of what you want…than it is to float around generally attracting things that are ‘kind of’ what you want.

Here’s the key…

It doesn’t matter why you are having trouble getting specific…

What matters is that you have a tool to help you GET SPECIFIC!

Here’s an exercise to do just that:

Grab 2 pieces of paper and a timer.

Put the timer on for 5 minutes.

In single sentences, write down everything that YOU DO NOT WANT.

Write it all down…all the things that drive you crazy about your life…everything you DON’T want to define you…EVERYTHING…

DO IT NOW…and then come back.

Welcome back…

OK…now look at the list of awfulness and take each sentence and on another piece of paper write down the opposite.

For instance, if you wrote, “I don’t want to be poor” then you would write on the other piece of paper “I want to be rich”.

NOW this is the Law of Attraction Key we talked about last time…YOU MUST write down specifics of what being rich is to you.

Don’t skip this part of the exercise. I know it might seem like a lot…but ask yourself if you’re ready to start using the Law of Attraction to work for you…and if the answer is ‘Yes’ then take the time to do this and get specific…trust me…it’s worth it.
