What’s the best day of your life?

Did you answer the first thing that popped into your mind?

What was it?

Hold on, before you tell me, let me guess okay?

You either went backwards in your mind to a day that is past OR you took your mind forward into the future to a day you want to have happen…

Am I right?

Now, listen closely, because this is important…

The best day of your life…

is TODAY!

I’m not saying that to be all positive and flowery…

I’m saying it, because it’s true…

Think about it…

The best day of your life is today because today is the ONLY day…

That great day that you thought of when I first asked the question — it already happened or it hasn’t happened yet…

But today is happening right now — and how you live today — what you think, what you value, what action you take — that is what matters most.

Now, don’t get me wrong, there is much to be learned from your successes of the past (your great days of the past, if you will) AND there is great power in having a full, positive and abundant vision of the future –

BUT

Today is the day and that will always be the truth!

Be the person you want to be NOW, TODAY — doing that doesn’t require a certain amount of money or success or love — being the person you want to be TODAY only relies on your thoughts, values, intentions and actions…

You are extraordinary TODAY!

What do you believe about yourself?

I’m looking for the limiting beliefs…

The beliefs that aren’t founded in truth — like:

* I’m not a morning person

* I’m not artistic

” I’m no good with numbers

” I’m always late

” I’m not creative

” I’m not smart enough

” I’m not lucky

etc. etc. etc.

These are just beliefs…they aren’t real and they can change at any time!

The challenge comes in if we are willing to let these false definitions of ourselves change?

Look at the beliefs you have and ask yourself which are in alignment with who you want to be and which aren’t…

And the ones that aren’t, ask yourself these 2 questions:

1. What would I have to believe to be (the opposite of your limiting belief)
2. What do I need to do (change, act) to believe that?

You decide who you are in every single moment of your life — throw out the old limiting beliefs and step into who you really are — extraordinary!

If someone walked up to you right now and told you how stupid you were and how you were screwing up your whole life, would you let them talk to you like that?

NO — you would defend yourself, you would walk away, you would get angry — or a million other responses, but chances are good that you wouldn’t just sit there and take it…

So, why is it ok for you to talk to yourself that way?

This is so important…

I’m all for wanting more and wanting to get out of procrastination and all of the things that hold you back, but telling yourself you are stupid or weak or a failure isn’t going to help!

• Be careful with yourself…
• Be mindful of the things you say to yourself…
• Start to really pay attention to the snap judgements you make and how often you apologize or feel wrong or stupid –

You are extraordinary — that’s the truth!  And if you aren’t quite ready to tell yourself that, I’ll yell it from the rooftops until you are ready!

• Support yourself…
• Encourage yourself…
• Be kind to yourself…

You will have more successes if you do…

Weird topic –  but stick with me here and you’ll see why I’m all fired up…

My friend said, “When I was little, I was the girl that would sign my name and take up like half the page when I did it…”

Then she continued…

“Until one day when my grandmother saw me and she said, ‘You can’t do that!’”

You can’t do that…

How many times have you heard those exact words?

How many times did you hear them — or something a lot like them — before you were 10 years old?

I guarantee you can’t count how many times!

And here’s the deal…

When people say that to you, for the most part, there really truly are trying to protect you from something (at least in their own minds)…

But let’s get real…

YOU CAN’T DO THAT has to be the worst 4 letter phrase around!

Then my friend said the most amazing thing — and this is the thing I really want you to think about…

She said, “Sometimes I look back and think that I wish I was still that girl…”

Here’s the truth…

You CAN DO THAT (assuming you aren’t hurting anyone please) AND even if you used to do that and stopped when you were told that you couldn’t do that…

You are STILL that person…

THAT is still the essence of you — even if it’s a bit buried, that is still who you are!

How can you reclaim that essence?

What are some of the things you were told you couldn’t do?

RECLAIM THEM!

As a website owner and coach etc.  I am required to tell people about average results…instead of the great, life changing results, that some of my clients experience…

So I want to talk about average results for a second…

Here’s the truth…

(For this post, I am only talking about programs and people that deliver on quality — let’s take the con artists out of this particular conversation)…

So, back to the truth…

The average results for any system or program or book or coaching is…

Failure…

and if it isn’t failure, it is mediocre results that probably would have been achieved without the purchase of the program or coaching or book etc.

AM I CRAZY??

You are probably wondering why, as someone who has products and coaching for sale, I would dare say this…

I’ll tell you why…

It’s true…

And it has NOTHING to do with the program, coaching or product (again, assuming a high level of quality)…

Here’s why the Average Results are so poor…

ONLY 5% of people that buy products, coaching, books and more ACTUALLY FOLLOW THROUGH!

And when I say follow through…

• I don’t mean start the program and do the parts that seem easy…
• I don’t mean read the book but don’t put anything into action…
• I don’t mean have your coaching sessions and just talk about things and then only take some action between sessions…

Just so you know…I was in the 95% for years…so I’m not pointing fingers AND you CAN CHANGE!!

I mean REALLY follow through…

• I mean go through the tough times and the frustration and the growing pains and the fear of change and the pain of being called on your resistance…
• I mean not jumping ship the second things get hard and going to the next program that you think might just make everything better…

To be honest…

I am tired or average results…and I know you are too!

• I’m excited about the 5% that do follow through…
• I’m excited about the 5% that puts their head down and knows it is going to be tough at times and that they are going to want to quit but they are so sick and tired or having Average Results that they do it anyway!

Let’s assume we are only talking about great programs and coaches and books etc.

It doesn’t matter if you work with me or with someone else of high quality…

Here is what matters…

Are you in the 5%?

Honestly…

Are you?

Now here’s the tough question…

Why?

Why do you refuse to stay in the 95% a moment longer?

If you are here, I know you are close…but only you can decide!

Are you ready to be in the 5% now?

Whether it’s now or later, whenever you hit the point that you are ready…

I am here for you…

To help you be EXTRAORDINARY!

Trust me, you are more than you could ever dream of…

(I’ve talked about this briefly before, but now that we are full swing into the holiday season, I want to really get into it!)

Most people have some changes and growth they want to experience in their lives…

And as I said, there are 2 types of people…

1. The type that sees the holiday season as a time to enjoy AND a time to get a jump start on moving themselves forward toward the changes they want to see in the new year so that when January 1st comes they already have a running start.

2. The type that sees the holiday season as a time to enjoy AND put on hold until January 2nd when they plan to immediately jump in and start working toward the changes they want to see in their lives.

So, which are you?

Please be honest…

Tell yourself the truth…

Are you ready to get a jump start on the New Year or have you already pressed the hold button on your life until 2010?

If you are ready to get a jump start, that doesn’t mean you have to go crazy and stop enjoying the holidays etc.

In fact I actually recommend taking small steps — we just want a running start not complete changes by January 2.

That’s why I gave you the 15 minute a day challenge between now and Dec 31.

Imagine how great it will feel to see some progress by the New Year instead of feeling like you are just starting as of January…

How great will that feel?

If you have the pause button on, you can un-pause it…

If you want to that is…

So…

Which are you?

Remember even the smallest running start is momentum…

For some of you it’s a new business for others it’s a  form of creative expression or way of impacting the world…

It doesn’t matter what it is, what matters is that you get it out there and I know that for most of you there is probably fear that goes along with that.  You don’t want to be pushy or salesy or annoy the people you know and love…

But let me tell you something important about this…

And I’ll actually use this blog to illustrate my point…

Here’s the truth…

The more I blog, the more responsive people are…the more people ask for my help, hire me as a coach, bring me on to speak etc.

What does this mean to me about life and more specifically living the life we want to design, achieving our aspirations, being the people we desire to be?

I’ll tell you (you knew I would)!

It means that when we want to get something out there or make something known or get people on board with something we have to take the other people into account.

Now this is where I flip what we normally do on it’s ear!

How we normally ‘Take other people into account’ is by ASSUMING we will annoy them or bother them…we think they will grow weary of us…so we mention something in passing and then let it go…assuming that if it is important to them or resonates with them they will pick up the ball and run with it, gleefully letting us know how what we have is exactly what they’ve been waiting for.

Let’s be honest,  if we REALLY ‘Take other people into account’ we will realize that there are so many distractions and so much stimuli flying around all at all times, that if we just mention something in passing, chances are great that our thing or message or whatever will automatically shift to the back of their brains, not because they are being mean or don’t care, but just because that is how it is.

BEFORE I GO ON LET ME CLARIFY…You should also NEVER ASSUME that they are all ears and sitting around all day every day just waiting for your message or thing or whatever…I’m NOT saying be annoying…I’m not saying harass people…in fact you should always give people the chance to respectfully decline…

Here’s the thing…you only want to be talking to people who want to hear what you have to say AND I guarantee you that there are a lot more people that actually do want to hear what you have to say than you think.

To boil it down, I’m saying is this…

‘If you don’t toot your own horn, someone else will pick it up and hit you over the head with it.’

• Toot it with respect for the people listening…
• Toot it with confidence but not OVER confidence or false bravado…
• Toot it and know that NOT everyone will like the sound of your particular horn…

Keep in mind…tooting your own horn doesn’t mean talking about yourself or bragging…it means putting what you want out there and letting it be known…you never know who has the key to a door for you!

And remember…listen for when you might have the key to a door for someone else…because that’s a powerful thing!

The outpouring of love and care that has come to me over the past few days since my accident is absolutely amazing…

Some might even call it unbelievable…

Now, you know me…there’s a message or lesson in everything…

So what is it this time?

Here you go…

There are so many people out there talking about the horrible state of the world and the people in it.  Complaining about the lack of connection and care that exists between people these days…

This way of thinking just causes us to disconnect further…

And I have to say, “I get it.”

There are so many distractions now, so many ways for us to all stay in our own bubbles of space and time…

So many examples of inconsiderate behavior and people running over others to make sure they get what they want first…

BUT…

and this is a BIG one…

Over the last few days I have discovered that isn’t the truth at all…

Sure, there are distractions and we can ALL (me, you and everyone else) get too self absorbed sometimes…

But when it really comes down to it…

We are all connected…and when something happens that hits us at our core we feel that connection and are surrounded by it.

You are never alone…

THAT is what I discovered from all the reaching out…

Even when you feel alone you aren’t…

And when you accept that you are connected and supported and loved EVEN WHEN you don’t feel that way or see where that connection and support and love exists for you…

It will start to show up…

In the most unexpected ways and sometimes from the most unexpected people and sources…

But you have to open yourself up to it...

Which means you have to be willing to connect and be available and not decide where it should come from but just let it come…

And then…

Accept it! Don’t say yeah that was great but so and so didn’t show me love…

Don’t look for ways to dismiss the beauty of the love and connection and support that surrounds you every minute of every day…

Instead look for more ways to see it and value it and share it yourself.

If you aren’t successful in an area, then you DON’T know better than the people that are!

• Listen to them…
• Watch what they do…
• Look at the moves they make…
• Follow their lead…

Eventually you will become successful and you will find what makes you unique and THEN you can invent something new.

But until then…

Give yourself a break and increase your chances of success by almost 80% and Don’t Reinvent the Wheel!

I can promise you this…

If you are genuine and show up as you, you will be unique from the beginning…

Just because it’s been said before doesn’t mean it’s been said how YOU say it…

Every time I have a coaching session with a client and I suggest they do something and they object to it because that is what everybody else is doing I say — everyone else is doing it because IT WORKS!

Put the odds in your favor…

I’m not saying copy someone word for word…

As I said, if you stay true to yourself, you will bring a fresh perspective and approach to everything you do even when you are modeling someone else’s success!

I want you to be honest with me now…

WHAT?  Aren’t I supposed to pretend that what I have to say is new and different and the secret to all of your dreams coming true?

Here’s the deal…

I searched for years to find what would work for me and I listened to 8 million people say the same thing about the law of attraction and making money and living your purpose etc. etc. etc. and they were all giving me the same basic ideas.

The concepts and ideas aren’t different and new…

What is different and new is HOW someone says it…

Like I said, my search was far and wide…

And when I finally broke through and went from making $1200/month to over $10,000/month it wasn’t because I found someone who told me something I hadn’t heard a million times…

I broke through because I found several people who, in their delivery of the information, MADE SENSE TO ME and because it made sense and resonated with me, I was FINALLY INSPIRED TO TAKE ACTION!

So here is my advice for you…

• STOP your quest for the magic bullet –
• STOP looking for the new thing that is going to make all of your dreams come true –
• STOP thinking that there is something you haven’t heard yet that is the key –

There’s nothing NEW here…

There’s nothing new anywhere, Napolean Hill and Tony Robbins and Joe Vitale and Dr. Robert Anthony and Stuart Lichtman and everyone else including me…they are saying the same things and shedding light on them in their own different and very unique and powerful ways…

The key is that how I say it is unique to me and that may be right for you and it may not…

Change your quest, stop looking for new information and start seeking the voices that make it resonate emotionally and not just rationally.

Listen to the voices that speak to you so clearly that you are finally inspired to take action.

You know this stuff, I promise you that.

Find the right teachers, coaches, voices for YOU…

THEN, realize they can’t take action for you…

AND TAKE INSPIRED ACTION…
